The Department of Epidemiology
The Department of Epidemiology was established in 1990 as one of the first core Departments of the Faculty of Public Health back then (which is now the Institute of Preventive Medicine and Public Health).
Faculty and staff: 9 permanent and 6 adjunct faculty members: 1 Professor, 3 Associate Professors; 6 PhDs, 03 Masters, 01 MD, 01 Bachelor.
Advanced degree programs in Epidemiology: Master’s programs in Epidemiology (Vietnamese and English), PhD program in Epidemiology.
Research focuses: Emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases; Epidemiology, behaviors and interventions to prevent HIV and co-morbidities; Epidemiology, behaviors and interventions to prevent sexually transmitted disease; Epidemiology and treatment of addiction; Cancer epidemiology; Intimate partner violence; AI in dealing with diseases; Behavioral interventions using mobile technologies; Application of implementation science in HIV and co-morbidities research.
