Scientific Biography
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Med. Hoang Thi Hai Van
Head of the Office of Training – Scientific Research – International Cooperation, Institute of Preventive Medicine and Public Health.
Senior Lecturer, Department of Research Methodology and Biostatistics, Institute of Preventive Medicine and Public Health Education.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Med. Hoang Thi Hai Van is an expert in global health, epidemiology, and biostatistics. She has held numerous academic leadership and professional positions at Hanoi Medical University, including Deputy Head of the Department of Medical Statistics and Informatics, Deputy Head of the Department of Epidemiology, and Deputy Head of the Office of Training, Scientific Management, and International Cooperation at the Institute of Preventive Medicine and Public Health Education.
Her teaching and research expertise includes biostatistics, research methodology, epidemiology, global health, One Health, and implementation science. She has extensive experience in research design, project management, data analysis, and publication of both quantitative and qualitative studies in reproductive health, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, infectious diseases, and non-communicable diseases.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Hai Van has served as co-principal investigator and coordinator for numerous research and training projects funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), including R01 and D43 projects, as well as projects funded by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health and national-level research programs. She has authored and co-authored numerous textbooks and scientific publications in both domestic and international peer-reviewed journals.
